Charger Plates

Looking for a new element to add to your place setting? Charger plates are just the thing to consider!

Charger plates are large, decorative plates that are used to complement the decor of your dining table at any event. They are available in a variety of colors, materials, sizes and shapes. When choosing a charger plate, consider the other element on your dining table such as tableware, serveware, linen, centerpieces, etc.

Charger Plate Etiquette

• Charger plates should be ready when your guests arrive.
• A charger plate should be placed at each place setting. Set it on top of a placemat or tablecloth. It should be placed in between the flatware and below the drink ware.
• Place your name card, menu cards or napkins in the middle of the charger plate.
• When you are ready to begin serving your guests, place soup bowls, salad plates and dinner plates on top of the charger.
• Chargers are usually removed from the table before the dessert course is served.
• Food should never be serviced directly on top of a charger plate.
